We want the conversations surrounding mental health, mental illness and suicide prevention to be a part of everyone's lives. Too many people of all ages are lost to suicide, which is the number one most preventable death. It all starts with providing an environment where there is no stigma so that every person can feel comfortable to reach out for help.
Through talks, events and our social media pages we want to give the general public an education on various mental illnesses while providing tips and ideas to cope with them. We also want to give access to and help previous foundations/charities that run mental health services. For both youth and adults, we want them to know that they are not alone in their struggles and that there is always help out there for them.
We also want to educate the public on the issue of drugs coupling with mental illness. People with a mental illness are twice as likely to have a substance use problem compared to the general population. This is something that is often overlooked and the two are seen as separate issues, when in reality they are more often than not connected.
